Mr. GorgeousFluffpot and I are racking our brains but cannot think of the answer - does anyone out there is Planet Yahoo Answers know this, please?

As in, "Hark, here comes the darn hippo that the neighbors bought their kids last Christmas!"
Is it time to bring back "hark"?

Don't just say "times" without an explanation. It seems like the obvious choice at first, but hear me out.

"One times ten" absolutely sounds a lot more natural, but it conflicts with everything I know about language. "Times" isn't a verb, after all; "six times three" is just an archaic inversion of "three, six times," right? So if 1x10 would be "ten, one time," wouldn't it also be "one time ten?" You certainly can't say "ten, one times."
