Why are female mosquitos the only ones that bite?
Female mosquitoes, like other female animals, lay eggs. They need special nutrition to produce and grow their eggs. Biting and sucking blood from humans and animals gives female mosquitoes the protein they need to make their eggs. Since only the female mosquitoes make the eggs, they are the only ones who need to get protein from blood. Male mosquitoes, on the other hand, feed mostly on nectar, so they don't need to bite.
Did you know this? I just found out!
