for lots of reasons

first of all if you get robbed and the robber leaves and leaves you alive they say the next thing you do is go and lock the door and call the cops

also incase of hockey riots want to be able to keep all the "fans" out

um... suppose there is some sort of a natural disaster or a pandemic that causes the sudden deaths of all minimum wage earners on earth, need to be able to lock the doors until the new crop of minimum wage earners comes of age or we change the child labour laws

secretly at 12:00am on 6, 06, 06 there will be a baby born... oh uh never mind

midnight clerks need to everynow and then have a moment when they use the toliet... while working alone they lock the door durring those moments

ive locked the door once when mobbed by taxi drivers in search of free coffee

just some of the many reasons :)

Well, although they are 24/7 i'm sure there will be times when there is a company super big event where all staff have to attend. Or, for annual stock take so that no customers will crawl in during the thing. It could just be a requirement by the building owner. All in all, nothing last forever, so that shop will probably go bust some years down the road, so the next shop that opens there can have a door. Haha...

Because people have to lock up to take a bathroom visit, stock shelves and to sweep and clean! Also if someone outside is threatening them, they can lock up to call the police! As well as after a robbery, they have to lock the door in case the robber comes back, and call the police!
