I'll tell you the story.

Once upon a time, long long ago. There was a magical kingdom, where nothing had a name. Not the people, not their possesions. Not even the things in nature.

And so. In this kingdom, people would talk and talk- and try to explain something about something broken, or missing. But- since they had names, their basic communication sucked.

So, one day. The mighty empress of this kingdom was trying to explain why her thing that didn't have a name wasn't working. She was very frustrated because no one knew what she was talking about and no one could fix it for her.

The day came that the empress grew so frustrated that she decided to hire a well educated man in a pink tutu to walk around and name things for her- people, possesions, things in nature. So, the man in the pink tutu named his first object. Poof. A table was now called 'slamphsnort."

But the empress decided that was a stupid name and she had him killed.

So she decided to hire someone else. A ignorent beggar that named the table table, and the chair chair. He was made rich and famous throughout the kingdom.
And the moral of the story is, you don't need to be well educated. You just need to have common sense, and not wear a frilly sissy tutu.

A good question for a young person to ask, most objects have an ancient name derived from what the object was used for- Window , my guess has something to do with Wind, no glass at first, take the word Threshold- that's a piece of Wood or Aluminum under your Entry door- in past times people put Straw on the floor to make it more Comfortable, than dirt, straw is also called Thresh, they put a piece of wood under the Door, to hold in the Straw, or Thresh. Its all very interesting how words came to be.

the person that found it, made it, discovered it, first to use it. Invented it.

And a lot of the words are from other countries because not everything was named here

Greek, Latin, English, German, and Chinese.
The languages were translated and the method was set, where all others followed.
This is why all languages can be readily translated.
