I know I've read quotes like this before, but I can't remember exactly how they were said or who said them

I'm looking for quotes that basically express the sentiment "The best way for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing" or "Seeing evil and not doing anything is just as bad as/worse than committing the evil"

I need this for an art project. Can anyone help?

The full quote is "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has". Our research has not revealed when and where she said this - under what context. She was an acclaimed anthropologist (1910-1978) born in Philadelphia and died in NYC.

I was reading a book where this quote is mentioned and googled it to find it really exists:

"We tolerate shapes in human beings that would horrify us if we saw them in a horse" - WR Inge.

What do you think it means? It's driving me crazy!

I know she has been on the show for years, but she is very quiet and she only seems to talk when she reads out the meanings of the words in the dictionary and when Des O'Connor speaks to her and Carol Vorderman talks all the time and also interuppts Des when he is speaking. I just don't like seeing people on a TV programme like Countdown who don't talk very often when other people do.

I don't understand this quote and need some help - it's for an English essay. I just need somebody to phrase it another way so I am then able to interpret it.

"As an allegory, the story has one enormous failure: the persons of Lenin and Trotsky are combined into one [i.e., Snowball], or, it might even be truer to say, there is no Lenin-pig at all. Such a stupendous omission cannot have been accidental.... Orwell in his essays was fond of saying that both Lenin and Trotsky bore some responsibility for Stalinism; by eliding this thought... he may have been subconsciously catering to the needs of tragedy."

Thanks in advance!

I'm writing a reasearch paper on why the US should watch out for china economically and I thought in my intro i'd include a quote about why the US shoud watch their backs, so any quotes that talk about not being able to be number one forever would be tremendiously helpful! Thanks!
