I'm not the smartest person when it comes to math but at least I know how to count back change and am amazed that if the cash register breaks, the cashier has no idea how to do this task. They rely upon a calculator. What if the battery dies in that too.
I was at the store today when this happened. The register was slow, and I asked him "do you not know how to count back change" , he said "It's early in the morning". We had another encounter, my husband had to tell him the amount of change, and another one, "she's just started here".
What's your view on this subject readers??

Am I the only one that thinks the three R's have gone by the wayside? Reading, Writing & Arithmetic.

Both my parents and stepdad graduated from UC Berkeley. Does that give me a better chance of getting into UC Berkeley as a freshman for the 07-08 school year?

I hope so, b/c my 3.7 GPA unweighted (4.15 weighted) and 2070 SAT scores are on the lower spectrum of UC Berkeley acceptance i think.

to get a high school diploma in my school one must have:

4 English courses
4 Mathematics
3 Lab Science
2 Foreign language (same one for two years)
U.S. History
Economics (semester course)
Government (semester course)
Additional Social Studies (for me it is world history)
Four yearly courses of Electives:

I have all of these except for my economics, P.E., and the last mathematics/english courses (i'll have those by next year i'm a junior right now) but my question has to deal with the electives. I'm not really sure what counts as an elective or not. Freshman year i took a course called "Freshman problem solving" and IBA. Sophmore year i took Spanish 1 (but failed so i know that one doesn't count), and i took an english enrichment course. This year i'm taking Drivers ED/IBA2 and Spanish 1 again. Would these classes count as electives? Also i plan to take psychology and it is categorized as a 'social science' and i was wondering if that counted as an elective or an academic

i hate studying but i dont wanna fail tests that i have. im only in 6th grade but the tests just keep on coming. im always glued to the TV or the computer. but when i finally sit down to study i cant concentrate. but i always make straight A's. but these six weeks im not so sure . . . . can some1 help me?

when ever it comes to homework...suddenly i get easily distracted...i cant focus, i mean i get the work done but it takes 3 times longer than it should, for example...i have math hw...im the best in my class in math, the cource is Adv Math 11 i have a 98 on it...and instead of me doing a worksheet in 10 -15 minutes it takes me an hour or more...english...im pretty good at writing essays...instead of taking 20 mins to write it...it takes me an hour and a half or so....why am i so distracted!?...i want this to stop..i bately have any time to hang out with my friends because of that!!
