Hitler, that bastard caused so many pain in the world that he will always be remembered for that. Anyone, even the most uneducated person knows who was this man or at least most of what he did. Now, group of people, or a people could be the Jews, they have been acclaimed to be the People of God, the murderers of the Son of God, one of the groups that most have suffered because of the Holocaust, and so on.
Nevertheless that's a hard question, there have been too many people whose contributions have marked the course of history.
