Definitely stick with "attributes that would benefit."

"Attributes" sounds more professional than "qualities" and "assist" just makes it sound like the organization needs serious help before it dies.... And you don't want to imply that it's dying (or anything similar). Using the word "benefit" makes it sound more like they're already well off but they could be better off with you working for them.

I hope that helps! And good luck on your essay! Just from that bit though, it sounds like you know what you're doing and you should be able to do a fine job with it.

Wow, your question is a total contradiction to your essay. Check spelling before posting... sheesh.

In addition, I believe that I have certain personal attributes that are (may be) beneficial to your organization. I am a goal-oriented individual who is capable of working both independently and as a team.

This sounds more like a cover letter for a resume. If so, leave out "In addition", say:

I have the personal attributes that would be of benefit to your organization. I can work either independently or as part of a team effort.

I think attributes is fine. Attributes and qualities are synonyms. Is this the beginning of your essay, or only a part of the essay? If it is the beginning, leave out "In addition."

I'd say qualities that will benefit

What about "an effective team member, with the ability to work independently towards goals"
