Im the only one at my school that watchs Degrasi: the next generatoin I live in America I know that good old Canada gotta have some degrassi lovers if so tell me who your favorite Charater is and why/I like Manny becuse she is so beatiful and sweet and acts like me!!LOL

I'm 15 and I go to a private Christian school in South Louisiana. I've gone there for 14 years. The school has horrid and strict rules. [I've gotten clinics (form of detention) for sitting sideways in my desk (but still looking forward, taking notes, and paying attention), having a sweatshirt around my waist AFTER school let out, having an untucked shirt, eating a jolly rancher in the hall, saying "Bless you" during a clinic (not talking rule), and all of these have happened more than once.] I'm not bad. I make good grades, hang out with good people, don't drink, etc. 90% of the people there are hypocrites. It focuses on the football team more than the academics. We aren't allowed to learned about evolution. I'm a Christian, but when I get into college I won't know a single thing about it. The list goes on and on.
I know it's a secure environment and we are allowed to pray and such. But I think I have a valid reason to dislike my school, I'm sick of it's antics.

Am I the only one?

I'm going to be a college freshman at Syracuse University, and I have to pay nothing for the tuition (I got a really good financial aid package)...however, I have no money at all to buy stuff for my dorm...even though I have a job

My dad can't help me at the moment because he quit his job about 2 weeks ago (because of the poor conditions and low payment) and he's still looking for another job (well, he already found one, but only starts working next week, & I'll have left by then) so, at the moment we're using my paychecks to pay the bills (which I really don't mind, to be honest)

I won a $1000 scholarship but won't receive the check until mid-September...

What should I do? I barely have 1 week left to get stuff together, and, although my dad told me that he'll send me the money once I get to college (as soon as he can), I'm feeling really depressed...

What if I need money on the spot for God-knows-what? What am I to do?

Can you plz give me some suggestions?

i really have a problem putting off all my work pretty close to before it's due. i always get it done, but i really want to get myself to work on it regularly.

Last school year my son's teacher advised that he be held back the following year but said the final decision was up to me. Since he was a substitue teacher for the last 4 wks of school and the regular teacher led me to believe my son was doing fine in school I decided to send him to the next grade. Now at the begining of this school year I was told that it is not my decision to make and he would be held back anyway.
Do I have any rights at all in this at all or not? We live in Illinois and I can't find anything telling me about the state law in this. My son's grades have been C average and he does have trouble with reading comprehension (mainly because he hates to read).

Im in 10th grade and this year- and if found out today that were going to be reading a book about the holocost. and i have a problem with things like people dieing and that sort of thing- and today we got in a group to read the introduction and it was talking about how children was killed and that was so so hard for me to read- cause i have a baby sister thats 3 and im like her mom and i couldit imagine something happening to her like that and things like that just bother me- but any way should i tell the teacher that i dont want to read the book and refuse to cause she's a real strict teacher or am i just overreacting-Help
