A car wash is always good.
You could do a yard sale. Have everyone donate some items.
At the yard sale or car wash, invest in a few cases of canned soda, and sell THOSE for say $1 each. (If you can buy 12 packs at 3/$10, total of 36 cans of soda. At a dollar apiece if you sell them all that is a $26 profit!)
You could hold some kind of dinner. (spaghetti is pretty cheap to make.) You can charge for the meal, maybe ask local businesses to donate some prizes and you could sell tickets and do a raffle.

The word is debt, as in owe money. Dept is a contraction of department....
I assume that you're already hit up all your parents without any success. You're going to have to go at it the hard way....car washes, chocolate sales, bake sales, rummage sales. Nothing is ever easy. You could try approaching a local business to "donate" hot dogs and drinks, which you would then sell for profit. Same for pizza, and any other food you can think of.

There is a company called Candle Cane Lane that specializes in candle fundraisers. Our band of 75 made $6000 in a two week fundraiser. They also offer free shipping to school organizations. Their product is tremendous and the people are super efficent. We got our order in less then 2 weeks last time.
