I don't know how this works. Scholarship groups use the FAFSA to determine financial need, right? Does submitting one automatically mean I get a scholarship? Will I be notified about it?

I have decided to major in pharmacy and because I live in southern Georgia my choices are limited. Only a few schools in my state offer pharmacy programs and 1 of them is the University of GA (which is really difficult to get into so I don't want to go there). Mercer University is another option. They are private and therefore expensive. However I have a renewable $10,000 a year scholarship with them but the average complete cost per year even with the scholarship will be $22,000. Another option is to go out of state to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). Of course I will have to pay out of state fees but won't after a certain amount of time can I maintain residency? FAMU will cost about $27,000 a year until I maintain residency. So all in all, which is the most cost efficient choice. Both schools have good pharmacy schools so money is the major object at hand here. I know finaicial aid will help but the balance portion will be my responsibility.

My company states that they participate in the Perkins Loan Cancellation of student debt program. However, I recently consolidated all of my student loans prior to learning this. Does anyone know if there is a way around this so that I may still receive this cancellation?

I have never been prejudice before and just today, I've had feeling come thru me that are horrible. I'm a 35-year-old single mother of two, I'm a Veteran, and I'm employed full time. Therefore, I want to go back to school to get my bachelor degree in Human Services. I've applied to the school, I'm ready for classes and I'm looking for scholarships or grants on the FAFSA website. I plug in all my data about myself from my sexuality to my hobbies, I get 223 pages of scholarships, and I'm like wow! Nevertheless, I'm now on page 22 out of 223 and so far I have to be; "a child of employees of direct member companies belonging to the Automotive Recyclers Association.” "must have at least 1/4 degree Indian blood from a federally recognized tribe." or "be an African-American, Hispanic/Latino, or Native American" or be current member of the NAACP and must not have reached the age of 25 by the application deadline"
What happened to a basic scholarship or grants? Any suggestions to other website

I am a Malaysian student looking for a scholarship for architecture offered by architecture firms which carries a bond to work with this architecture firm after graduation, preferably architecture firms from Australia, Canada, US or UK. Can anyone tell me where to look for this kind of scholarship which will allow me to study in the university of my choice? This is because I want to study in Melbourne University for architecture but my family could not afford it. I have seen this kind of scholarship offered by big company for finance and engineering, which bond their scholars to work with them after graduation. I would be appreciative if anyone can tell me the name of architecture firms that offer this kind of scholarship, or any information about it. Thank you so much!

I have a federal student loan that is in default because I was unemplyed for along time after I gor out of college plus with credit card debt. I have a wage garnishment and I want to get undefaulted. I pay $300 a month in wage garnishment and they want another $170 per month as a regular payment for nine months and I can't afford it. I worked with Sallie Mae and they can get me a monthly payment of $183 per month and not $500. But they want three consecutive payments before they will accept it and I can't afford the payments with the wage garnishment. Illinois Student Assistance Commission won't help me out at all about getting rid of the garnishment so I can pay the monthly fee and garnishments don't count. Is there any way I can do something so that the feds aren't screwing me over.

I know about Fastweb.com, etc but those are mostly national scholarships, with one winner in the entire nation. Even my guidance counselor has said there is basically no chance of winning one of those. Or, the scholarships are only good for public colleges...I will be attending a private college in the fall. Any good scholarship websites out there that a student like me actually has a chance with?

I have a private loan in the amount of $4,000 in default. It was a student loan that I wasn't able to pay on while unemployed. I didn't know about the economic hardship rules. Anyway, I know that I can get federal grants for certain because I was even able to get them when I had a federal student loan in default. Now that it's out of default and paid in full, can I still get federal loans like a stafford loan? Or will I have to pay the private loan in full as well in order to get any financial aid?
