Yale University is one of the oldest private universities in the United States. It was founded in the 1640s in New Haven Connecticut to provide a traditional European liberal education in the New World. Currently, the student population is at 11,000 contained in 12 communities of 450 students each.

It's private. If you're looking for a public school in Connecticut, look at UConn (or lower-ranked SCSU).
