Every single day I see high school juniors, seniors, etc and so forth listing their grades in each subject, and then asking whether their grades are "okay." Usually the grades listed are A's, A-'s, 97's, 95's, you get the deal. And then they write something like "are my grades really bad?"

Clearly, these kids are looking for some sort of approval. But I find it to be highly annoying. If you're passing school with A's, obviously you should have enough sense to know where you stand and if your grades are acceptable. Does this irk anyone else? The kids can't be that clueless...

P.S. Not trying to be hostile, but this has seriously become a pet peeve of mine. For further information, I'm a college junior (with excellent marks that I need not parade).

I'm 18. I'm really curious about this, as I'd like to marry and have a committed relationship somtime in the future. I've heard quotes like...

"Marriage is the best way to ruin a beautiful relationship"

"Marriage is a grounds for divorce"

"One should always be in love - that's why one should never get married"

What's more, I hear so many middle-aged married men complaining about their wives and their lack of freedom. But I've always thought that marriage would be ideal, a perfect bond that should last for life.

As far as I can remember, 2/3 families divorce. How **** is that? All opinions and responses appreciated.

I had a 12 year old in my 6th grade class last year. She was one of my favorites and was always the one in charge of my birthday surprises and teacher appreciation parties. She has done so much for me this last year, but the thing is she told me about her home problems with her parents, therefore I am always the one she comes to for advice or just to talk. She comes back to visit me periodically, and recently told me she ordered me a Christmas present. Should I get her a present for Christmas? Would it be socially rude for me not to buy her anything considering she's done so much for me?

Going to take Japanese and Math 2, and I think I should take one more.

I'm considering Literature, Biology, or U.S. History.

I was thinking Literature because I'm a fairly good reader/writer and think I could do at least somewhat well on it. One thing is that my vocabulary is a little lacking (maybe). I could improve it though.

If the Biology or History tests are supposed to be easier, and are more reasoning than memorization, then maybe I should take one of them...

this is kind of random....but last night i was thinking about how in elementary school i would have recess and lunch and after eating at these times i would play with my friends - we would play tag, go down the slide, play on the monkeybars, run across the playset, play soccer, basketball, throw woodchips at each other, and alot more. why, all of a sudden though, after the 6th grade this stuff is no longer around..? all of a sudden you get into junior high and you aren't provided with this stuff anymore..is it an inherent belief or what?? i think the difference between kids and adults is kids can be carefree and play on all this stuff and adults don't. maybe that's why some people turn to drugs and alcohol..so my question is why do people believe adults shouldn't do this stuff too? don't laugh im being serious here.

Ok, I have a three page essay to write for Honors English II about the Hiroshima bombing, and I need a LOT of help...
I just got the assignment today and it's due on monday -_-

I need to know the names of the leaders of the Axis powers, but I can't find it, my JROTC teacher doesn't know how to spell their names (besides Hitler's), and I have no World History class.

I need to know how far the Axis' rule spread, where they'd taken over.

I need to know where Hitler died.

And I need to know about the monumental buildings left up after the bombing of Hiroshima.

Please, I can find the rest of the info, I just need this. Thank you

Hey all. So I asked this question earlier but only got one response. I would really appreciate people's input. Thanks!

ok. So I am 19 yrs old and will be graduating from the University of Colorado this Spring. My boyfriend plans on moving to Daytona Beach to attend Embry-Riddle aeronautical university. (He was originally going to go to the Arizona school, but changed his mind.)

Anyway, we are very serious and have been discussing marriage and things. He says he wants to have kids soon, but I am nowhere near ready for that. Both of our moms were homemakers, My mom quit her job as a doctor to stay at home with me, and his mom did the same (not sure what she did though). I would love to be a stay at home mom if we can afford to, but that wouldn't happen for another 5-7 yrs or so.

So Here's my question: If I plan on staying home eventually is grad school (and maybe law school, i haven't decided on that one yet) a good investment?

This teacher really creeps me out. She's, like, overly obsessed with me. I dunno why, though.
It all started when she caught me talking to a friend in the hall. She was "surprised" that I'm really outgoing. I'm not that shy as I was a couple years ago, but I'm still "a little" shy. Like, I don't like to participate a lot, but I try to.
Anyway, the day after she caught me talking in the hall, she came up to me after class and asked me to participate more in her class.
Then after that, she always "analyses" me when I'm talking to my friends, or just being loud in general. And what really bugs me is when she always tries to talk to me and smiles really weirdly.
And another thing: Every time I answer a question in her class, she goes "over board" on praising me. She's make a really big deal if I participate. It's so annoying!!!!!!!! And she's the only on of my teachers who does that.
I have NO clue what to do. Any advice? Were you ever in a situation like this before?
