Who said the famous quote "In three words I can sum up everything I've learned in life- It Goes On"?
I think it's Mark Twain, but I'm not sure.

I see in the newspaper that they use the term "he pleaded guilty" rather than "he pled guilty." Is there not such a word as "pled?" Wouldn't that be grammatically correct?

Ok... Agreed. It sounds silly, but I don't know the answer. I am fifty years old. I have secretarial training, was once liscensed as a Traditional Dental Assistant, have worked as a teacher's assistant, and have worked as a nurses' aid. I have raised and home schooled seven children, although this year I am taking sabatical as a home schooling mom.

I am presently enrolled in college online studying to become a paralegal. Although this is very interesting to me, I'm not sure I am in the best location geographically (very rural here) to make good use of a degree in that field.

I am curious as all get out. I love to learn. I love to interact with people. I love researching and digging up information. I also like quiet environments, am not overly active, am actually quite shy, and enjoy my freedom.

What would be a good career option for me at this age? I understand that I could volunteer, but I'd like to make some money.

Thanks for all of your original ideas.

I know if you belittle a man and make him feel ineffectual you' emasculate' him. What is the word when a man makes a woman feel less womanly( i.e by cheating on her , acting like she isn't hot) ?

Have to do an informative speech with Power point presentation. The powerpoint part will be easy once I get a topic. Considering what I'm interested in my audience may not find interesting. She wants it to be a topic that my classmates can "get something out of." I was thinking about "how Japan has influenced the US(youth, gaming, movies, baseball, fashion, business, etc) but I'll be just touching on it because I can't fit all of that into the limited time frame but I think it would be boring to one who isn't interested or has no thought of business or Japan? I also was considering "Tour of Tokyo" or "Bilingual Incentives" or why study abroad. or why become an engineer. Interesting to me, but they may be a bore to the majority. Then I was considering "How to change a flat" this is something that everyone needs to know and I can make it very detailed, interesting even. Don't know. It was hard picking a topic for my first speech.

I didn't do very well in High School making C's & D's. I wasn't interested in college then and I just did what I had to do to pass and graduate. Now that I am 27 & at a low-paying, dead end job & I would like to go to Dalton State. I never took any test for college while I was in school & of course my grade point average was not good at all. Do you think I would be able to get accepted into Dalton State & would I be eligible for any kind of grants like the hope scholarships or something? I have always lived in Georgia so that wouldn't be a problem. Thanks for your help.

Girls: Jane, Joanne, Jessica, Maria, Shilpa

Days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Jobs: Meal, shopping, collect milk, mow lawn, write letter

Neighbours: Mrs Jenkins, Mrs Burns, Mrs Mallory, Mr Morgan, Mr Thomas

You have to match the girl with the day with the job with the neighbour using the clues below. It goes like this:

1. A neighbour had a meal cooked for them on Sunday.

2. Jane helped Mrs Burns the day before Joanne did some shopping.

3. Mrs Jenkins received a letter.

4. Mrs Mallory was helped on Thursday.

5. Shilpa helped her neighbour on Wednesday.

6. The lawn was mowed the day day before Mr Thomas was helped.

7. Jessica did not collect her neighbour's milk.

P.S. I've already done half the puzzle but I'm desperately stuck on the next bit.

Hi, I have a bunch of questions about applying to graduate school in Social Psychology.

1) what is the difference between a "statement of purpose" and "personal statement", do schools ask for both or are they just two names for two slightly different things? Are they usually 2 pages in length single spaced or double spaced?

2) I know grad schools usually require a vita or resume, but where do they go in the application especially if the school does not provide you space for one when applying online?

3) if the application is done online should you compile the rest of the information (rec letters, transcripts, vita, etc) yourself and then send them all off at once in a package or should they all be sent separately?

Ok that's all, if anyone has any extra tid bits though they are more than welcome. Thanks so much :)
