(I'll give you the short hair version)-Basically, he was revolting-even he took a dislike king to it- army, ah my he would complain.

Actually, Ian, the the King's dogs were spaniels, now called Cavalier King Charles spaniels. He had very good taste in dogs !

No, he did only for hunting,don his special head gear. It was usually a hard hat (crash helmet type thing) and Lord, protector quality it needed to be! He may have claimed to be pure, it 'an-dily was proved wrong anyway and he was hung from the gallows. He was already dead at this point so his neck didn't suffer any tie-burn! Ew gruesome!
