Has anyone ever heard of incompletes being given at the graduate level? My institution does it, and I really don't understand why. I thought at most graduate schools, if you got a grade below a B-, you had to retake the course.
I work in my academic dept, and I can't believe how many forms go through for this...some students would have a D for many courses if it weren't for this option.
Obviously, I am very annoyed since I am an A student.

In France, it is called a TPV (Terminal Point De Vente) but I don't know in English, and as a teacher I'm always expected to know the answer. It is not an ATM (Automated Teller Machine), which is a cashmachine for a bank. What I'm looking for it the electronic device, in which you insert your credit card, followed by your confidential code to make a payment in a shop or hotel. Perhaps, someone can also give me the name of the manual device used to make a credit card imprint in a hotel. Thanks a million.

I can't go full time due to my job and my child. I was told nursing school is almost impossible to do and work. Does anyone know any student loans that allow you to go to school and pay them back later. I know alot of the loans let you do that for school things. I am looking for one that allows me to use them for living expenses as well. Any ideas will help.

I am currently getting may MBA in marketing from Strayer. They offer traditional classes, but I prefer to take classes online because it's convenient. Strayer is mostly known as an online, distance education school. Will my MBA carry the same weight in the job market as someone who earned theirs the "old fashioned" way?

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Staff members of an elementary school staged a fictitious gun attack on students during a class trip, telling them it was not a drill as the children cried and hid under tables.

Can you believe this??!!!! I can't believe educated men and women who we trust our children with would actually agree to this!!

I have researched as much as possible and come up very short. I am 24, single and have no children. I am having a very difficult time finding money to pay for school because I am also working full time. I have been recently declared independent although I have lived in a separate state from my parents since I was 19; they have also decided to be great parents and not help me AT ALL. Any ideas that don't consist of me selling my soul??

What is the correct sentence form when you have a pronoun followed by a verb in conjunction with compound subjects in a sentence? Here is my example: Would you say, "There is a chair and table over by the desk?" where the sentence takes a singular form because of the pronoun there being closest to the verb is? Or would you say, "There are a chair and table over by the desk?" This would assume that you have compound subjects, (table and chair) so do you go with the plural verb "Are?" I have seen both ways be accepted by both school teachers and professors. But is one method preferred over the other? Do you go with the pronoun closest to the verb, or the format compound subjects=compound verb?

I have just graduated from college, and I am try ing to throw away some stuffs, so that I can go back to my country. But, I cannot decide weather I should throw away note from classes or keep them. I may not look at them so many times, but I paid about $30 per hour for tuition, and these are evidence and good memory of my college like. However, the problem is there are so bunch of notes.... It is going to be several hundred $$ for shipping, and there are no space to keep them in my apartment back home. What should I do? (Whichever your opinion is...) Can anybody give me good reasons which I won't regret?
