notice some of my very intelligent friends are all smokers. Contrary to conventional wisdom, is there evidence to suggest smoking sometimes boost people's mental abilities?? What do you think?

NO. NO. NO.
There is no positive benefit from smoking.
It doesn't relax you. It doesn't make you think clearer.
It doesn't look cool.
Anything a smoker says to the contrary is false.
Any positive effect they think they are experiencing from tobacco is due to their need to maintain their nicotine level.
Nicotine is an addictive stimulant.
The negative effect they feel from not smoking is a drug withdrawal, that would disappear after they kicked the habit.

I've been smoking since highschool and I am also affraid of the health consiquences but my grand parent been smoking since I have ever knowed they died in their 90's and not of smoking. All smokers are asking for the right to smoke if non-smokers does like what bout our right who like smoke. anyway I smoke 12 to 13 sticks a day marlboro filters been fine done good in school and I have a nice job but i do respect non-smokers especially pregnant women, like my wife when she was pregnant with our baby a boy. With regards to brains intelligence smoking will clam me if I am in thinking mode and it does make focus more.

its proven that smoking long term lowers your IQ and it saps oxygen from your brain that cant be good
