My 8 year old daughter who is in 2nd grade took a SAT test last fall when she was 7 and I received the results today. She scored GREAT!!! She has always been able to bring home straight A's on her report cards but when I received the results I was blown away. Most of the categories showed that she was at a 4th grade level. A few said 6th grade level and her grade equivalent for Language is 8th grade level. I'm not bragging if anyone thinks that. I'm just really curious if I should be doing something about this. Is it common for a 2nd grader to recieve results like this? I don't think it is but I don't know. She's my oldest child and I'm new at this. I'd like to ask here first before I speak with her teacher. No need to embarrass myself or my daughter. :) Thanks for your opinions.

First time I have come across a ratio in a system of equations word problem. The book doesn't even cover ratios for another 3 chapters! Please explain how I would set this word problem up into a system of 3 equations?

I'm having a hard time deciding where I want to go. I'm really rooting for Davis because it is the only UC that offers Nutriton Science and Exercise Biology majors. I know after college I want to pursue a career in sport medicine or sports nutrition. I understand UCSD is a fantastic and very presitigious university, and I've been told its a huge honor to be accepted. However a vast majority of their majors focus on physics, engineering, math, and computer science. Not exactly my cup of tea. So if i turned down that offer and attended davis, which isnt exactly at the top, would it be a silly decison?? I'm a San Diego native so it'd be ahuge transition for me. How does Davis rank academically?? What about the campus life? I'd appreciate the oppinions!! :)
