I have often heard the term and although the meaning is clear I don't know what the significance of using a door nail as a comparison is.

What company supplies public schools with their text books? or is their somewhere else we can order textbooks?
I am looking for an 8th grade earth science and a history homeschool textbook. I'd like it to be non-religous

(because the last christen-based curriculum we got was too religous. The science course was the same as the bible course).

thank you

I will be a senior next year in high school, and am planning to enroll in either pre-med or pharmacy school. I am taking AP Biology this year. Next year, I can take either AP Chemistry, AP Physics, or Anatomy Honors. Since I have two free periods, which two should I take so that I have the best chance of getting into college and pre-med/pharmacy school?

What kind of courses should I even take? What medical should I go to? Does it really matter what undergraduate college I attend? I really don't want to go anywhere out west somewhere on or close to the east coast. I'd really appreciate it if you could help?

I got my award letter and it stated that i would get 22,460.00 yearly from the school. The only problem is that its $40,716 (everything included; direct and indirect educational expenes). I know that there is no way for me to afford to go to this school with what they are giving me a year. My question is how might i go about asking for more aid. This is my number one college too so i could prob add that somewhere.

Any suggestions on how to go about this will be great.

I am from Texas, and down here we have to take the T.A.K.S Test at the end of the year, incase you're wondering what TAKS means, it means:

Texas
Assesment of
Knowledge and
Skills

In school, we (as in this school district) only focus on the TAKS, like today, for example, i asked a question, and got ," This isn't in the TAKS, I'll tell you after the Test."

And it just leaves me thinking why are standardized tests the main focus in some states?

okay so lets use Astronomy for example. I heard that in able to be an astronomer, you have to have a Bachelor's in Science and a PhD. So basicly do I get my Bachelor's in the undergraduate then get Phd in the graduate school or get the Bachelors in college? And is it okay to go to Harvard University without going to college? What about if you want to be a doctor?

We just previewed a web based resource called Classworks by Curriculum Advantage. It seems like an excellent product to use for remediation in math and language arts. Does anyone out there have any experience with the product and the company? I would appreciate some feedback.
