my school has only about 150-200 kids in it its a middle school
Its okay it has its benifits but I really feel sicluded from the world like there is so much more. There are not alot of options of people like if you get in a fight with your friend there arnt alot of other options of people to hang out with. I know i sound kinda shallow and all but there arnt alot of good looking guys, and its just kind of boaring for me and my expectations. There is not alot to do baisiccly the school education I hate to say it SUCKS. but it really does. I have allready talked to my parents about moving. Its a really really beautifull location with the ocean and everything but its just to small for me. Any ideas in how to get-un-board? I feel like I am boxed up and .. its not a good feeling.

I am a junior in high school and I am looking at colleges. I know that I want a degree in Information Technology (or the equivalent), but I don't know if it's worth the money to go somewhere like Purdue or Rochester when I could go to a local college for much cheaper (not to mention it's closer).

I am very knowledgeable in IT and I am employed by my school as the Assistant Network Administrator, so is a degree from a prestigious school worth it? From what I can gather, it seems that a college degree only really matters before you have your first job. After that, it's all experience.

Thanks a lot for any advice. The process just seems so overwhelming.

I do very well in school. I get straight As and A-s with maybe one B+ per year. I am also in all honors classes and plan to take three AP classes next year. Bio, U.S., and English. However, I recently took the PSATs and was in the 70th percentile. Yes, above average, but low compared to students who wish to go to excellent colleges. Most of my other very astute friends received percentiles in the 90s, for example. With my great school grades but only fair SAT scores do I stand a chance getting into a very school such as UPenn or Cornell?
