People are complaining that it has been hi-jacked but there are plenty of other words to use instead of Gay. Bright, merry, flashy, showy, vivid, gaudy. Which one do the queers want?

I am a 14 year old girl with mild cerebral palsy. I walk on my own around the house but use one crutch at school and pretty much everywhere outside of the house. I get tired VERY easily and cannot stand/walk for long periods of time because my legs and feet hurt. I have a few more years until college but I'm getting worried. There is no way I'm going to be able to walk around a huge college. I can't use a manual wheelchair because my arms get tired just as fast as my legs. My mom thinks I should just go to a small college and walk with my crutch, but I'm thinking "How small is small and will it be small enough to save the little stamina I have?" A power wheelchair would be a dream come true, but there's no way that insurance would cover it for someone who can walk on their own like me. Any suggestions?

P.S: I need something not too expensive-my family is middle class and we can't afford an expensive powerchair or something else.

My sister's in her first year of college. She tried to take biology, but on her 1st day, the teacher explained to the class that if they hadn't already taken chemistry, they would have a rough time in her biology class. My sister dropped the class a week later due to complete confusion. She then attempted chemistry, but also ended up dropping out of it within the 1st week since she never took chemistry or physics in high school; and doesn't even understand what an atom is! Yes, the school system has failed her, what to do now? I found that physics, since it's the basis for understanding the more abstract concepts introduced in chemistry and biology, would be the best starting point for her. But, physics (along with all sciences) requires lots of math. My sister's taking college algebra right now. My question is, what math courses/subjects are recommended to take/learn before taking a college physics course (assuming no prior chemistry or biology courses have been taken)? thanks

My professor isn't teaching us from the book. He makes up his lectures as he goes and none of it makes since. This class is a Human Anatomy class yet all he's taught is chemistry. Which happens to be his favorite subject. I've already taken Chemistry and really need a good anatomy teacher. He's not even teaching chemistry right and he skips all over the place. To top it all off, he's a chauvinistic pig! He compares his lectures to having sex with women. I few people have thought about complaining to the college but they would rather wait until their out of his class, their concerned that if they complain that he'll give them a bad grade or even make to class more miserable. The college doesn't have another Bio teacher to even replace him with. I'm really fusterated because I really want to understand Human Anatomy since I'm trying to get into the Nursing program. And this teacher sucks! Please help, what should I do?

Some words/expressions get so tied up with
hate (or whatever else) that they become taboo.

What are some historical examples of taboo expressions that simply got mostly buried or repressed and some that survived or reemrged into common usage without hate?

Death is a discordant beat among the celebration of beginnings of new life, in the beginning of this first act. Why does the playwright include it?

Do you think no scenery and pantomimed actions—the paperboy throwing imaginary newspapers, an imaginary horse delivering imaginary milk bottles, the children pretending to eat breakfast, act, or distract, from the play? Why was the play written this way?

this is due tomorrow and i can't understand a thing!!!! so plz help.. A PSALM OF LIFE
"Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
life is but an empty dream
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem

In the world's broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!

Trust no future, howe’er pleasant!
Let the dead past bury its dead
Act, act in the living present!
Heart within, and God o’erhead!

Lives of men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints, on the sands of time;

Let us, then, be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labour and to wait."
