I am currently in 9th grade and I am planning to enter a prestigious college. I was wondering if high school teachers and professors in colleges are so picky about grammar. I am not talking about simple grammar mistakes, as in subject-verb agreement errors. For example, the word "work" is uncountable. If I wrote "I have so many works to do" instead of writing "I have so much work to do," would professors or even high school teachers pick those up and whack points off? I am studying grammar and I realized that there are so many confusing rules. If grammar isn't "big thing," does professor look for "Shakespheare-like" sentences? Or are they more concerned about the content?

One more thing!
There is a lot of rules (A)

There are a lot of rules (B)

Which one is correct?

I am half way through my junior year in highschool, and I am either valedictorian or salutatorian (I havent checked lately). I am an officer of Key Club, a member of National Honor Society, and a co-comittee head in Student Council, although i havent really actively been participating. My strengths are in mathematics mostly, and i am also taking AP computer science 2 and I am the only girl in the class.
What will it take for me to get into an Ivy League school?

I think it counts as a disability! I should get some money for multiple brain surgeries (that haven't fixed the problem and took a huge chunk out of my junior year) and simply surviving through high school with my memory shot.

Me and my friend are typing up a story...it's about virtual shopping,,, we have to include imagery, dialogue and a simile... this is what we have so far:
I think that we should introduce a fun, new way to learn math skills, interaction with people, and money management, all in one system. The Shopper 3,002! You give us 400 dollars of virtual money that we can spend in a virtual mall. We are also able to go into the stores and try on virtual cloths which could include hats, sunglasses, and shoes! If you__________ you could get a job at one of the shops furthermore; you could learn responsibility. Work hard to impress your bosses and finally get that raise that you’ve been wanting! Use your earnings wisely to prevent becoming broke. Invest your money in a stock and watch it on your computer at your house. Talk to people and_______

My love is useless without you in it.
My heart is useless when ever I’m scared.
Dark rooms are useless when they are not lit.
My love always doubles when it is shared.
When your heart is empty mine is also.
If you leave me here I will cry tonight.
When you are leaving I want to follow.
If you rise up, I will rise up to you.
When I am crying you always help me.
Your voice makes me happy when I am sad.
You can be funny to make me happy.
You could not be able to make me mad.
I do want to be with you forever!
But, will you always love me forever?

Our school system is catering more and more to the kids today than ever! Now, they are concerned that students are not getting the required "9" hours of sleep per night to perform their daily studies. On an average, a nation-wide study showed most school students are not getting to sleep until 11pm, causing fatigue during the day, and lack of concentration. Now, they are considering moving the school day to start an hour later. I find this totally rediculous. Kids today have the computer and internet to do their homework, there is even a section on Yahoo Answers specifically for homework help! They are having everything handed to them for their convenience, and are not learning the sense of time management, responsibility, or setting short-term goals for themselves. It starts at home, with parental guidance, discipline and supervision over schoolwork. It is then, school officials should enforce the progress of the student.

Hi,
I'm interested in the Early Years National Diploma/Certificate (equivalent to NVQ L3) and was just wondering if anyone else had undertook the course/knew some one that has. I would just like to know what the course consists of and if it is recognised as being a respected course?

Im looking at going into Primary School Teaching, but rather than taking A Levels thought i could do the course i mention above and then progress onto another course/degree equivalent.

Im a bit confused at the moment as to where i could go (in terms of courses) to get into teaching? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

:o)

P.S Sorry if my question sounds abit muddled and confused! lol
