My autistic son has been mainstreamed in a reg ed classroom. Until this year it has been a working set up for him. The difference this year is his reg ed teacher treats him like he's nothing but a pest. I have been to the classroom several times and each time she runs it like he doesn't exist. I also heard her request that a "toy box" be placed in her room filled with things to keep him occupied quietly so she doesn't have to deal with him, keep him out of her hair. I've been told that they've sent her to conferences about autistic children but its like in one ear and out the other. She's been reprimanded by my son's case manager several times already. She's been reprimanded by my son's teacher from last year. And now I think she got my son's para (the one who stays with him all day to monitor him and basically be his teacher) fired or taken off the case because she's complained and she genuinely cares about my son. Please help... who should I go to and with what?

Can I pick a different field to get my bachelor's degree in like Business Administration, Spanish, or Information Systems Technology? I was told I could pick a field that has room for a lot of electives and just use my prior credits to fill that area. If I do decide to go this route will I be able to receive my BA in no more than 2 to 3 years?

The profession of teacher is questionably the most important to any society....The payscale however does not reflect its value, consequently the duty of teacher is sometimes diminished only to affording students the ability to pass a grade.

What if a teachers compensation was based in part upon the income of former students....

Each student and teacher is placed in a national database updated at each grade....

Example: Upon graduation from college or begining at a certain age, A fist grade teacher would receive as additional income .0001 percent of the tax income of her former students when they begin to contribute to our society.

Is this enough incentive to ensure that our youths are afforded the necessary training to become productive citizens?

Would this encourage better teaching ensuring that our children are better prepared for the global economy.

I went through the GMAT website and didn't seem to find this info. Thanks!

My SAT I score is 2220, SAT II (math level 2, physics, chemistry): 2400. I'm giving SAT I again, hoping for a 2300-odd. I've done loads of extra-curriculars, and I will graduate among the top 10% (hopefully 5%) of my cohort. BUT...
My GPA, if computed, will be strictly average.

What are my chances of admission at an Ivy as an INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT applying for FINANCIAL AID?

Mike C asked in one of his answers: What does homeschooling say about you? He also asked: What does going through homeschooling teach your kids?

I'd love to hear homeschoolers' answers to these questions. :)

What I think homeschooling says about most HS families that I know is that they care very much about their kids, they are dedicated to them, they want something better for their kids during their childhood. They are willing to challenge themselves and put in the extra effort for their kids' benefit and not pass it all off to someone else.

As for what does going through homeschooling teach my kids (aside from the character and educational benefits many homeschoolers see in homeschooling), I think it teaches them that family is important, that it's okay to not be doing what everybody else is doing and that we love them enough to do what we feel is right for them, even if much of society disagrees.
