if you contact ETS (Educational Testing Service) in Princeton, NJ, they will tell you that your score is in the 61st percentile. they have other interesting statistics about your score.

I think it is a good score. Colleges do not just look at your SAT score, but they also review your GPA, ACT Score, Clubs, Community Service, etc. There are a variety of things to place on your transcript when trying to get accepted to a University. If you are dissatisfied with your score, then you should take the test over to strive for a better grade. Overall, I think you did great! Don't let anybody bring you down, or try to discourage about your score, or your future. Hold your head up high, and always dream big. You will never know what you can achieve in life, unless you have the faith to try. I will be prayer for you. As always take charge, take control, and take care!!!

A combination (Math & English) SAT score of 1640 is average (2400 is the highest combined score), and definitely not good enough for Ivy League schools.

But it's a fair score (you're in the 61st percentile) and should help you to get into college.

It's a decent score, not that high a score, but not that low either. It's an average score, which if backed with good high school grades will place you at good colleges.

However, there is definitely room for improvement and you'll surely do better with sufficient preparation.
Let me know if this helped.

I scored the exact same on my test.....820 math and 820 English. I understand it to be a good score and it got me into college. Good job and good luck in school.
