If one knows that they will get an "F" as a final grade in a class, is it better to drop it with a "W", or just get the "F" (lowering GPA), and which way would allow the re-taking of the class the following semester in hopes of passing it that time.

ok when i was in high school (2005 grad) i passed all my parts of the high school graduation test but the science part by one point... would it be better to go and take that part again or just gopt get my ged? i mena i walked with my class and all even got a plaque diploma.
