1. Read as many different authors as you can. You don't have to read entire books- just pick a section and really study it. Notice how they describe things, which descriptions they include (and which they leave to the reader), and what they write about.

2. Add humor, irony or sarcasm to your writing. These narrative devices will elevate the level of your writing, thus adding interest.

3. Change the structure and length of your sentences. Again, this adds interest.

4. Include dialog (when applicable). Dialog naturally draws people in.

5. Avoid passive voice. If you don't know what it is, try not to use the verb "to be" or any of its conjugations unless necessary. Usually you can use a better verb in its place.

6. Don't be overly wordy. This doesn't mean not to elaborate: it simply means to say what you mean using the best (and fewest) words possible.

7. Choose a subject that interests you. You will be able to write about it better, and your passion will come through into your writing.

8. Practice and self edit.

use a thesaurus to change up your words, and change sentence structure, and use similies, metaphores and figurative language.

all the things listed can help you be more creative, but don't overuse them, cause that could make your writing turn out too repetitive and boring. And also try not to go over board with the thesaurus, you don't wnat to sound like you copied words out of a dictionary either.

Read more. I have always been told that a person's love for reading show through when they write.

The more ideas you have floating around your head, the more creative you can be.

Describe something, then put that description aside and write something else that makes people think of what you already described, but it feels like their idea. Don't be afraid to revise.

When ur writing, put your thoughts in it, not other people's thoughts and ideas. Express your own ideas and expand them, don't make ur story all analytical or anything like that.
