Education & Reference - 2 November 2006

Okay, today in Social Studies (I'm in 7th grade), me and my group of two other girls had to preform a skit about Caius Mucius. The most you could get on the assignment was 50/50. When we were done, our Social Studies teacher wrote and cirlced 50 on our paper, which would be a 100%, and me and my group were happy. As me and my group were sitting in our seats, the next group started to do their skit. In the begining they said, "Good morning Mrs. (teacher's name) and class."
Then our teacher looked at me, motioned me to her desk, crossed out the 50, and wrote 48. Then she said
"You forgot to say Good Morning Mrs. (teacher's name). That means we had 100%, and went down to 96%. At my school that would be an A-. Why would she do that? She didn't mark any other groups' grade down because they didn't say that. Is that even, how do I say, "legal", to do? I don't know how to put it. But is a teacher allowed to do that?

Hello friends, I am seeking a Bachelors degree in Interior Design and I was wondering if it would require a SAT ( i have bachelors degree in business and one year of work exp) .. I want to get the course done in 2 years max, as i already have a diploma in interior design. Which universities offer such program and how much would they cost? Also are they reputed and Accredited colleges? Someone in or around New Jersey? I appreciate ur helpin me in my research ..

well, not neceralily a friend, but we know eachoter. It is both or ours project and we only have 2 weeks left, well till the 15, and we havnt' started yet. i'm a senior in high school and my top choice is MIT. i go to a small town school, i took the most challenging classes offered, 3 AP classes, but my GPA isn't that great, around 3.77. i was the president of debate club and model UN team, and i was officers in a bunch other activities. i volunteered a lot, i'm actually a UN Youth Ambassador (some people say it's gonna help a lot but others say it won't). i got 2000 on my SAT, and about 700 for each SAT II tests. my essays are ok, teachers' recommendations are pretty good. i'm bilingual, i play the piano, i play sports. but i'm really worried about my GPA and SAT scores. a lot of people especially my parents think i won't get in because my grades aren't good enough. what are my chances? someone with experience please help!!!!
