You always do what is in the "()" first....

(10x12)+8
(10x12=120)+8
120+8
120+8=128
128

10 times 12 equals 120 plus 8 equals 128

In math you perform the function in parenthesis first. Therefore 10x12=120. Next add 120 + 8 which equals 128.
