Some women claim that men don't listen to them. Now research suggests that men listen with only half their brains.
In a study, brain scans showed that men used mostly the left side of their brains while listening. Women used both sides.
The findings were presented by Dr. Joseph Lurito at a conference last fall in Chicago, Illinois. Lurito is an assistant professor at Indiana University School of Medicine. He said his findings don't prove that women are better listeners.
In fact, listening might even be harder for them. Women seem to use more of their brains than men for the same task.
"I don't want a battle of the sexes," said Lurito. "I just want people to realize that men and women may process language differently."
