I used to learn English in Canada until 2 years ago, and came back to Japan. I met many people from Korea in my ex english shchool. They tought me some sentance, but I don't exactly understand what they talk about. I read Korean and remember how to spell, but I don't know what the words mean!! most of my friend in Korea speaks English or Japanese. so I didn't have any problems... even though I'm curious what they are talking about. lol
That'S one of good idea '' just go to Korea'' (。・ω・)σ ⌒*

i think it is impossible to learn the language as the natives,
but by surrounding yourself to its culture
might have influence on you

so i suggest you to get a penpal,,
(or anything that will be active,
maybe like watching korean dramas, movies, etc w/ subtitles,
maybe listening korean songs)

and these are the site for penpal:
http://www.sokorean.com/
http://groups.msn.com/koreanasasecondlan...
http://penpalsite.com/internationalpenpa...
http://penpalwel.com/
http://www.globalpenpal.com/

and instead of going to school,
i think it would be better for you to get a tutor,
as you know a lot of academic schools in asia
are so concerned with math and english,,(not korean [hangul])

you might want to consider following webs:
(it's alike esl except it's in korean)

http://www.okkorean.com/
http://www.edukorean.com/
http://www.edukorean.com/

(you know there is language selection category)
