I'm currently taking a full load at my university, but was considering going part time online (if possible, not too familiar with how it all works) and cutting my days down to tuesday and thursday. I"m currently going mon, wed, and friday. I was just wondering if you have taking some online courses, would it be too difficult to manage a couple ---keep in mind i have a one year old son. any advice would be appreciated. thanks!

I took a couple, and it wasnt bad at all. The nice part was that you could set your own time for when you did the work.
For mine, there were weekly assignments due. As long as they were in the professors email in-box by a certain time and date, you were good. The bad part was that there was no in-class discussion or meetings with other students, so if you dont work well on your own its difficult. The professors were very easy to talk to via email, so if you had questions you could get a response within a few hours at most.
One class had a final test that was on line, you logged into a web site and answered questions there. Another required you to set up a proxy exam, where you had to sit down and take a paper test in front of a witness.

I am currently taking 3 classes all online. And you could drop down to part time with out any penalties as far as fin aid goes as long as you stay at or above 6 hours. As far as juggling all the class it isnt really super difficult I have 2 computer info systems classes and 1 economics class. My 2 computer classes have everything but the tests already posted, so I am able to stay a week or two ahead just by reading during my lunch breaks and doing my review questions when I get home. The economics class posts everything when it is assigned. SO the 2 computer classes kinda make it easier for me to keep ahead, the only way to check on how the internet classes are done at your school would to actually talk to the instructor. You could also talk to people at your school and ask them if they have done online course through that school and survey them.

Hi there! I took a few online classes my last semester in college last year. They were wonderful. I liked the quality of the classes and the professor was always there by phone or an email away. I did most of mine "in person" though because I liked getting to know the professor and other students in the class. Only classes I took online were ones that weren't offered at times that I needed. Good luck....I think they are worth it, especially in your situation! =) PS-just becareful, they can usually cost $100 more or so for each class compared to a regular class!

I have a friend that took some and they were alot of work but not that hard just a matter of finding time to do the work and research..they were in nursing and u had to stay on top of he work--lots of busy work--I had to help her thru it because she had a two year old at the time and no help..single mom. but if u are only part time, I think it would be ok.

If you are a UK citizen try the Open University. Their on-line courses are second to none. You may also be entitled to financial assistance in paying for them.

Good luck.
