Hi, I will soon be entering my Junior Year in college. I am planning to become a history teacher on middle to high school level. Which elective courses in history do I have to take in order to prepare well for this job. My stongpoint is American history and political science. I know a lot about it. I know world history briefly, as well as some ancient history. I mostly took American corses electives and I know a lot about it. Me weakest point is medieval European history. Should I take more world or ancient or American history courses? And since I am in college full time, I never realy had a part time job. I heard that degree alone does not get person a teaching job, one must have some job experience in their resume. Is this true?

Hi,

I'm learning English right now.

"The writer insists that block on the use of hand-held cell phone is invalid."

Does the sentence above sound OK?
Do you usually use "block on" when you want to ban something?

Please help me out.

Three guys get a hotel room, they are charged $10 each, total $30. Later the clerk realizes he overcharged them and gives a bellboy $5 to take to the men. The bellboy realizes he can't divide $5 evenly between 3 men, so he pockets $2 and gives each guy $1, so the room cost them $9 each, right?

So, $9 each times 3 men is $27, plus $2 in the bellboy's pocket is $29.

Where is the other dollar??

Hi,

I'm learning English right now.
I've come across the following sentences.

"The lamas (salvation seekers) begin a spiritual journey.
They must purify themselves(symbolized by the circle of fire). "

And somebody rephrased them like this

"Cleanup operation is the first phase of a spiritual journey."

When you describe purification of the spirit in religious way
do you use 'cleanup operation'?
It sounds awkard to me.
Since I'm not a native English speaker, I can't tell the difference of subtle nuances.

Please help me.

My 14 year old brother is getting ready to begin his next year of homeschool. He has mild ADHD, and the math program we have been using, put out by Bob Jones University, has proven to be unchallenging, uneedfully confusing in directions, and frankly boring. I would like to find an experience based math program for an 8th grader.
