I was reading a story about Watergate, and came across this sentence. "In the early morning of June 17, 1972, a team of five burglars were arrested in the act of breaking into the Democratic Party's Nation Committee offices in the Watergate Hotel in downtown Washington, D.C." Shouldn't the "were" be "was" because the subject is team? Or is team plural? This has been bothering me.

The Children's University appears to be run by various County Councils. It involves after-school activities for KS2 children. The children earn credits for each activity they undertake and at the end of Y6 their credits are totalled up. Dependent upon the number of credits amassed the chidren are awarded a certificate, diploma or honours.

I am a disabled older african american (44) who would like financial help going back to college. I took out a student loan 25+ years ago and tried to pay it back when I left school but it got sold and each place told me they did not have it so I forgot about it. Years later I went back to school and got Pell grants so I thought all was good. I got sick and now that I am semi well I want to go back but they now say I owe from my 25+ loan and can not get a Pell Grant, plus they have added a SUPER amount of interest, at least $4000. Any idea how I can get help going back to school?
