I would first talk with the financial aid counselour at your school. Most times, they can find something for you. If that doesn't work out, then you should try Sallie Mae. They specialize in private student loans.

Have you tried getting a Stafford Loan? When you fill out our annual FAFSA , your SAR report will feature what your obligation is. You then need to go to your financial Aid Office and apply for a Stafford Loan. That's a federal government issued loan and in times past, they have been very lenient.

sallie mae is good, but they're doubling their interest rates starting in September, so watch out! Try Chase student loans or local credit unions, if you're a member. They tend to have good deals on loans.

FAFSA

Fill out a FAFSA... the only problem is, i believe the deadline is fast approaching. Your college will have the forms.. or you can apply online. Google "fafsa". You need your tax info, and if you're not independent, you'll need your parents too-- Good Luck.

Talk to the financial aid office. They'll know best.

Employment will always be a factor unless you get a co-signor. If you apply for Federal Loans then they do not take into account your credit history, but you do have to submit your W-2s.

The government lenders may reject you. I was in the same situation, myself. Eventually, I did find a site that has rated a few student lenders, and says they have checked them out. Here's the web page: http://lendersrated.com/studentloans.htm

Hope it helps you...
