Churchill, to Bessie Braddock.
Bessie Braddock: “Sir, you are drunk.”
Churchill: “Madam, you are ugly. In the morning, I shall be sober.”
Churchill did have words with Lady Astor. Here's one exchange:
Nancy Astor: “Sir, if you were my husband, I would give you poison.”
Churchill: “If I were your husband I would take it.”

Definitely Winston Churchill. The lady was Mrs Bessie Braddock, Labour MP for a Liverpool constituency. Churchill certainly had run-ins with Lady Astor, but she wasn't ugly!

at a state dinner party during WW 2 a politician's wife, don't know which one, said to Sir Winston Churchhill "Sir, you are drunk." Sir Winston replied, " Yes, but in the morning I will be sober whereas you Madame will still be ugly."

I think it was Sir Winston Churchill to Lady Astor. Those two had some pretty vicious exchanges.
