I live in Los Angeles, CA and I'm going to go to France for a little while. I'm planning on taking my PC with me, as well as a PS2, Nintendo 64 (or something...), monitor, speakers, etc. Just think of it this way, I want to take a TON of powerful electrical components.

In LA, I simply plug everything into outlets or surge strips. How can I PROPERLY convert the voltage to accomodate my US electronics in a French-based electronic environment?

Think of it this way: I'm looking for a converter which can handle converting power to ALL of these electronics... ALL at once. Imagine if I have my computer, monitor, speakers, ps2, n64, etc. ALL on at the same time..., what converter can I get that can handle that much electrical conversion?

Someone please help. It's pretty urgent... :-(

How come sometimes you have to turn the prongs on the cord upside down to fit into the sockets? It doesn't seem to be the outlet, because I can plug in other things w/o turning their prongs upside down; yet it doesn't seem to be the prongs because I can plug them into different outlets w/o turning them upside down either?

It's a big 3-speed chinese made fan. It seems that the electricity is going on since I see flashes at the switches. I also hear a light sound. Maybe the motor is dead.

My dad got an old fridge/freezer from work, because they got a new one. We took it because our old refridgerator alone didn't have enough space to help feed a family of 5. The problem arose when, well, the freezer seemed to shrink from the massive amount of ice and frost in the freezer. It was further pushed along when on "Seinfeld", one character was asked when he was going to defrost his freezer (The series was from the early ninties), and I have wondered since how to efficiently defrost an old freezer. Thanks!

I need something that I can have with me during hypnosis sessions with clients where I can have a background music CD playing and a blank CD which I can then plug a mic into and record my voice along with the background music onto the blank CD as I'm doing the session. What do you reccommend? Something other than a computer...because I'm sure there is probably some way by plugging a mic into a laptop or something but I'm needing some other type of equipment.

Thanks

I want to power a water heater, a blower fan, and a small water pump continuously with a diesel generator run on Biodiesel. Is it possible to set up a system of some deep cycle batteries that will carry the load for say 1/2 hour or 1 hour and have the generator kick on automatically when the voltage drops to charge the batteries...this way the generator will not be run continuously. What would you need to set this up? Anything besides what I have mentioned?
