I'm not sure why you have 2 meters now. The only 240V 3 phase I've heard of is delta, and you can treat one phase of a delta as single phase and get 240/120V from it. Yours is separate though. Single phase 120 is really 240/120, unless you have a really old single phase service that is just 120. I suppose if it had just 120V and needed to get 240V they could have added the second service for the 240V 3 phase.

Anyway, for your question, the modern method to get a small 3 phase service and still have 120V power, is the 208V Y 3 phase. This has 120V phase to neutral for all the single phase 120V loads. You then have 208V for single phase loads instead of 240V, and 208V 3 phase. There is no reason to have separate meters, since single phase loads can easily be sourced from a 3 phase service. In general, 240V equipment is not made for 208V. A household range is typically rated for both 240V and 208V (less power at 208V). Apartment buildings typically have 208V 3 phase service, even with no 3 phase equipment. Equipment with motors may not work at the different voltage. The nameplate on the equipment should indicate the power requirements.

i'm thinking like "an electrician" interior the previous answer It would not sound like a three-section motor? You did no longer smuggle it abode from the production unit did you? Small autos like that could plenty greater probable be a unmarried section 240V In residential wiring you get the 240V via utilising the two, out of section, a hundred and twenty V materials that residences are under pressure with. you in all likelihood desire a e book (or an electrician) to help you do this the 1st time. on your electric powered container their must be 2 busses and that they are arranged so as that circuits next to a minimal of one yet another are provided from diverse buss A "240V breaker" covers 2 spots and for that reason the two busses. under pressure properly, the 240V is better "section to section" like your nameplate suggested. (-a hundred and twenty to +a hundred and twenty is 240, the two stages exchange oppositely) a very good form of time autos like which may be under pressure 240 or a hundred and twenty. do no longer do something till you be conscious of precisely what you have there! Then get an electrician or a minimal of a e book for some help.
