if it is a few files, you can email them to yourself from old, then download to new. if it is many files and old has a usb port, you can use a jump drive, or you can network them with a cable.

Hate when this happens. OUR new computer is the same way. HAS CD Burner but NO floppy A Drive. Old computer has Floppy A drive with NO DD Burner. LOL

You can pull the harddrive out of the old computer. There will be a jumper on it to set it as single, master or slave. Set this one to slave.
In the new computer, set that harddrive to master, then plug the old harddrive into the same cable the harddrive is on in the new system.
When you turn the computer back on, you will see the old harddrive there as a different drive. (Drive D if you only have 1 drive set) You can either copy the files over by dragging and dropping, or just leave it there and not remove the old harddrive.

get an external CD writer...that can be connected with USB or something...
or get a flash memory..
