Cell Phones & Plans - July 2006

I’ve heard conflicting information about this claim—some college researchers have concluded there is not evidence static electricity from you cell phone can ignite an explosion, yet gas stations I frequent seem to display signs “do not use mobile phones in this area”. What's the story here? Thank you Yahoo!

I downloaded and installed the Motorola Mobile Phone Tools application but I still cannot get it to work right and can't figure out how to get pictures from the Razr to the computer. I have the USB cable connected right now and the mobile phone popped up on my screen but still nothing....
If you have done this using a RAZR V3 please provide detailed instructions. Thanks!

i know putting magnets near computers are bad and cellphones can be thought of as mini-computers....i actually have a carrying case which closes with magnets(some use velcro for example); and so it's in near proximitiy to my phone.

ok i have recently just got a motorola v3c and with my old phone (nokia) i had a cable to connect it to the computer, and now for the razr i can just use any old mp3 or camera cord, but my computer will not recongize any software for the phone so i know i have to get MPT 4.0 but i dont wanna pay for the cord cause i dont need it. so is there any source of just downloading MPT4.0?

I don't want to change service providers and since Cingular took over, I'd have to change cell phones and sim cards and sign up for a two year contract. I want to just get a phone w/o a contract and stay in the AT&T network on current plan and pop in my sim card.

I've been told that I can get a free cell phone when signing up for a one-two year contract with certain phone companies but I keep missing the "sales" or "events" - can anyone tell me where I can get a free cell phone right now?
