I'm writing a module which requires a code to identify which country this visitor is visiting from. But I can't find the PHP code. Any help will be much appreciated. ;)

I am learning HTML and for practice I made a web page but I can only add a plain background to it in single color. Is it even possible to add a patterened background ( like a wall paper) on my webpage using html, or do I need something more advanced than that.

I need to fill out an application, and I think it would look a lot neater if I typed it up, so I scanned it. The only problem is that the scanner puts the document into jpeg format, and I can't edit it. Is there any way I can convert the jpeg into a word document?

Ive written a login system in PHP and it is working, it lets people register, validates existing members etc. But what i dont understand how to do is to give members priveleges when they are logged in.

How do i allow members to view vertain parts of my webpage, and guests not to view certain parts of the webpage? essentially ive got like a guestbook on the site and an interactive map that i only want registered members to be able to manipulate. How do i do this?

Say Ive got settings in my program I want them to be saved in a .dat file.
Now I want either a step by step guide or an example that is labelled with what does what.
It must be visual basic.net as I use that language and need to save settings in that kinda of way.

I have a floated object on the right and a div on the left. The div has a colored background and in IE, the background stops where the floated object is, but in Mozilla, the background goes behind the floated object too (not the text, but the background and borders). I don't want this behavior. Any tips for stopping it short of using tables or setting a fixed width?

There was a graphic magazine many years ago called Step-by-Step Graphics that had changed Hi Janine... Excuse me... that had changed it's name and I'm looking to subscribe to it. It was a magazine geared toward graphic artists, photographers and illustrators. I think they changed their name after 9/11. Thank you to all those who respond.
