The best way to download music is to use a bittorrent client. Azureus is one of the most popular clients right now. It can be downloaded at http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ (I also reccommend BitComet which is made entirley in C++ where as Azureus is made in Java)
Then all you need to do is search for what you want (artist/album/movie) at a popular bittorrent site (listed below). I like btjunkie.org, but you can use any. Then when you find what you want, you download the small torrent file. Double-click the torrent file and it will open in your bittorrent client and begin downloading.
Limewire, it is not as useful to me since I download entire albums or discographies. Limewire is good, but only allows you to download single songs/videos. You can still download single tracks using bittorrent.

torrent are like compressed files, into a couple of KB, you need BitLord or Bit Torrent to use them.
