It depends what the website is about, generally I will suggest you show some text telling your visitors about the website or your business. Also use few but eye-catching image links. The key to get people revisiting your site is giving them the impression that there will be something new next time. You may even want to think about having members sign up.
Good luck

Key thing for web page is content, and maybe some cool links.
Have some neat things to say, and something like a "Link of the Day"
If you find cool things on the net, then you can always talk about them. People like reviews, info, free things. If you find what thing or service you know lots about then write about that. If you see lots of bands, then write about them. Something new each day in the topic area of choice usually works out well

If you'll come back to this question here, and update it to add details such as, especially, the address of your website! (Or, maybe even, ask a *new* question, same as the first, with the website address!) ...then answerers can know where to go look, and come back with suggestions (if that's what you really want...)
