Other - Computers - October 2006

I have tried everything possible to get rid of those little red x's, and I still can't watch any video's in Yahoo and Google, where I was able to all the time...So some of you suggested use Firefox...I have no earthly idea how to uninstall IE or that I should, or install Firefox, in control panel programs, there is no internet explorer, where some of ya'll said there should be two of them, so I am at a loss as what to do next.....Any help will be beyond greatly appreciated!!!..PS I have not installed/uninstalled, changed anything, security still the same, didn't change settings etc.....

I work for a school corporation and all the kids ever use in grade school is macs. Most of the schools around here are like this. I was a windows guy until I started using macs again this past march, (they got awesome) I am now a mac guy and honestly feel if Microsoft doesn't step it up in 10 Years its gonna be like 50/50 ratio instead of the 85/15 percent ratio it probably is now (pc users/mac users)

What are your opinions??

I downloaded songs in a .mp3 format on myspace and converted them into .wma using the windows media player plugin. Can I burn these to cds using this format? Also will It sound good?

I have been paying on a dell computer for 3 years and i'm nowhere near through paying for it.The initial price was $1500,but now the balance has skyrocketed to $1879.And i made my payments on time every month which was $45.Tell me am i getting screwed? What would u do? I'm open to any suggestions.

Ok so I am trying to back-up my DVD collection. I used Mac the Ripper to rip the dvd, then I used DVD2OneX2 to compress the Video_TS File, and then I used Roxio Toast Titanium to burn the Video_TS File to a DVD-R. When I went to play the DVD in my Sony DVD player it said that there was an error reading the disk. Any suggestions?

I have connected all wires to speakers and to the pc and made sure that the wires were tight and correct. But, when i try to listen to the speckers then there is no sound. I am also positive that there is correct voltage to the speakers. My speakers ID or possible model is SP-689/Multimedia Speaker. Note: these speckers are 3D provided speakers just in case you might need to know that.

What equipment would I need ? I know some scanners have slide attachments but because I need to transfer several thousand, not really viable one-by-one, so are there extra gizmos ? Do I need special software or v high spec computer ? Thanks !
