Select Start and then Run.

Type in msconfig and a box will pop up.

Select boot.ini tab

Here you can move the programs up or down on the boot list.

You can also select the Startup tab to remove programs that you don't want to start up at all.

I'm not sure you can, but I'm seriously waiting to see your other answers to this question. Another good question is how can you turn off multi-processing during the startup procedure? It seems that if there are a number of programs there that they fight each other for startup time while I'm still waiting for my desktop.

Time could be saved and I could get the desktop sooner if they would load sequentially.
