Do you really want a IM or Answers message made 3 years ago comming back at some job interview? While The NET is a public place, many do not realise that their posts, & emails last long after they give up a account. Foley's acts aside, WHAT ABOUT YOU???? Cookies are bad enough, but do you feel a little less shaky to today knowing That email or Yahoo! Answers post may come back to huant you. People cry about the patriot act. The inability to connect is using a wireless broadband connection. I am using windows XP Professional and IE 7. I have also tried firefox as my browser. There is anti virus and firewall protection on my computer but the strange thing is if I connect the computer using the dial up connection I can connect to the site without any problem ( I do not have an exstensive knowledge of computers but assume that the dial up connection would still run through the same protection software as when connected by wireless router) the isp for wireless is Orange and dial up Tiscali if that helps anyone identify a possible solution. Any help would be appreciated.

well, the thing is that I'm using the wireless satellite in school, in SSID I write 'linksys' but I can't get in a lot of pages 'cause in school I can only search for sites that only have educational purposes, so most of the sites I get into get blocked and sometimes there are a lot of things I actually need for school...my question is...if there's a way to get into the web sites and actually being able to see the pages without getting blocked??? (I've been told about getting into google.com and then go to yahoo! search but I didn't get any results)

It is a good idea to warn your kids about internet safety, but does it really make a difference in what they do online? They could be careful not to mention what city or state they live in, leave out what school they go to and then post a picture of themselves wearing their high school sweatshirt.

Hotspots everywhere.. my whole house has wireless and it freaks me out...I like it.. but it freaks me out..Satellites beaming down.. are we likely to die from cancer quicker now? or something.....

Should one or both of these be deleted periodically? I have depleted both of these and now I can get only generic web pages. I think this is because of depleting the cookies. Also, It seems like all of my 12 computers are much slower since I have taken this action. could one of these deletions be the cause? Will system restore undo both oft these actions?

ok, windows installed just fine. i got the internet running. when i click on internet explorer it wants to download a file from msn, it doesnt tell what file it wants to download, once downloaded the file wont open. i tried downloading ie6 and 7 from the internet (through the reliable mozilla firefox). it wont let me install it because service pack 2 isnt installed. i cant get to service pack 2 without IE. i downloaded 5.0 since it doesnt require sp2. it wont let me install it because it detected a newer version installed. i uninstalled the version and its still detecting it. i'm caught in a catch 22. I cant install IE without sp2, cant get sp2 without IE. i'm not computer stupid, i know computers but this has me stumped. any ideas?

Me and some people I know have been getting IMs from someone claiming to be a ceo in Nigeria. He wants us to email him and call him. He's given us 2 phone numbers. They start with the correct country code. I cant look them up without paying $150. He wants to send us "jewelries." Im not really sure what this guy is really after. He seems to enjoy our attention whether we contact him or not. Anyone else having this happen or know what the deal is?
