That's a really good question. I'd say 12 or 13. I'm not saying that due to their maturity, but because at that age they may get one whether you want them to or not. Allowing them to get one means you will know what it is, and perhaps maintain the ability to supervise their email if necessary.
I'm not saying you should be nosy or read all their email. I just think you may want to know about the email in case something happens.

I got mine when I was 10.. lol.. but for some reason, I knew how to be responsible and not give it out to random people when I was that young. Maybe because there wasn't any such stupid sites out there at that time. But yeah, I am 20 now..
So erm, don't know really. But just make sure they know the danger. Make sure they are well informed and make them watch the news and see what happens if they did release their email address to the wrong people. Always tell them the truth.. thats what I will say!! hehe

I were given mine at the same time as i became 10.. lol.. yet for some reason, I knew a thanks to be to blame and not in any respect supply it out to random human beings at the same time as i became that youthful. possibly because there wasn't this form of stupid web content obtainable on the instantaneous. yet yeah, i'm 20 now.. So erm, do not recognize extremely. yet only make confident they recognize the danger. make confident they are properly counseled and lead them to watch the files and be conscious what takes position in the adventure that they did launch their digital mail take care of to the incorrect human beings. continually tell them the reality.. thats what i will say!! hehe

it depends on the child if they are too trusting and also because u dont know if your child might fall victum of something like a predator that sends emails by random and waits for a fool to reply.

maybe you're asking this because your child wants one?
maybe you're considering to let your kid have one?
whichever it is, i think it really depends on the child or if you're ready to let your child have one. I got mine when i was 12 or so. they're a great way for people to be in touch with each other if you don't have phone numbers or something. hope this helps !

I say not until they are 17 or so. Kids are to vulnerable and naive, people will take advantage of them.
