best defense is to have an active internet security program, I use Norton, Macaffee and zone alarm are also available. A spyware scan my confirm your fears.

how u determine if u are hacked depends on what u think has been hacked. if its a game of some sort some items may be gone or money missing. if its ur computer maybe some files are gone or ur virus system has gone off detecting unknown presence in the computer and such. hope this helps a little.
