I see people on facebook and myspace with so many "friends" on facebook and stuff it makes me wonder..do you actually hang out with all of them? Or do you have your facebook friends and real life friends? I have talked to my friends about this, and its like they dont wanna admit that they add people that they barley talk to in real life. I know a girl who has 367 "friends" on facebook. It makes me laugh because a few weeks ago she had around 200 friends. Its amazing how someone can make over 160 friends in a mere 2-3 weeks. I dont buy it. Do you people who have hundreds of friends on facebook actually look at your friend count and think that validates your worth as a person? How sad that people actually socialize more on the interent than they do in person

It used to be listed alphabetically, but now it lists them from least recently updated to most recently updated. This occurs on both IE and Firefox.

Is there any way to change the way the browsers interact with Windows XP Explorer to revert to the original alphabetical listing? Thanks

When the ac adapter is plugged into my laptop, it powers up and then powers off at different periods of times; not to exceed 2 minutes. The adapter will charge the battery and the laptop will stay on using battery power. Any Ideas?

It's not stuck, it's just the fact that when I press the key - the button doesnt work until I press it hard.... I took off the key w/ a butter knife and cleaned out the inside(there wasnt much in there) & of course it still sticks. what the heck else can I do ! It's driving me nuts! I am at work - and enter numbers ALL DAY LONG!

I've been given a USB memory key with some assorted documentation on it (about 50 MB of PDF files). Now I \ve read it all, I want to re-use the key for my own data. But my PC (running XP) sees it as CD drive. Clicking on its icon it comes up as Drive E, CD-rom. Free space 0, total memory 50MB. File system CDFS.
I have the impression that the USB key has somehow been "closed". It is impossible to erase data or record new data. There is no switch on it to block recording or erasing.
Any ideas?

I know this isn't labeled a wireless modem or router but I had an AT&T modem before that wasn't wireless. However, it was WEP key capable, which gave me wireless access. Does the Speedstream 4101 have WEP key capablility?

my computer which ive had since 2004 is now starting to go at a snails pace.
1: 40 gb hard drive
2: 56k
3: e machine with intel
4: comcast cable for broadband speed

with the comcast broadband it use to be super fast, now i find it takes 45-60 seconds to go to another window. i have also been hearing the fan motor switch on when im switching windows. i did the speed test to check if my ISP was the problem, but the speed test was within normal limits. ive deleted all temp files and cookies and password settings. ive tried to clean up the hard drive, however i wouldnt touch anything that i wasnt familiar with, just games and such.
so how can i speed this thing up.

write a program that would display first 5 positive perfect numbers. A perfect number is a number whose sum of all its divisors except itself is equal to that number. For example, 6 is a number because the sum of all its divisors except itself (1 2 3) is equal to 6.

I have a network consisting of a server, a speeedstream 4100 modem, a linksys router, a linksys ethernet switch, and six dell computers running XP Pro. My internet provider is ATT/Yahoo.
My home page setting on the computers is Yahoo.

Five of the computers can connect with the internet.

All of the computers can connect with the network.

I cannot figure out why the one computer will not connect with the internet.

My understanding of all of this is limited.

My answers contain such things as follows, which I do not understand:
MAC address filtering HOW AND WHERE
IP address filtering HOW AND WHERE
DHCP server HOW AND WHERE
ipconfig HOW AND WHERE
firewall setting HOW AND WHERE
tcp/ip corruption HOW AND WHERE

Also, could this happen because my modem is not in bridge mode? I have some information stating that my modem should be in bridge mode (with the internet light off) or some sort of interference or conflict could occur. Could this be a factor?
