I have written a computer program and would like to make it available for others to use. However, I also want to protect it so no one else steals my idea.

Because of what they hear on the radio and read in the paper, lots of people who connect their systems to the Internet rush out and buy the latest copies of firewalls and virus protection software and begin tinkering without first considering what they're protecting themselves against. Is this a good idea? What should they be doing first instead? What are they doing wrong?

put my start box and all the things I have open(like when you open up programs and they are at the bottom and shows what you have open)back at the bottom?? I accidentally clicked somethign and now they are on the righthand side of my screen and I want to know how you put them back at the bottom and my box when y ou click start,back on the lefthand side.

I have a Laptop which has a Network Domain Name Setup that we keep by right clicking My Computer Properties & its connected to a network domain at my office. But when i get home i have a network connection which has Workgroup settings. Can anyone tell me if i can create a Workgroup connection in my Laptop while leaving the Domain Name that its having. Like i can have 2 ways to use my network. 1 with domain name and other with Workgroup so i can switch faster when i get to home or work..

Please give me the exactly steps !!!

If for example the order is Photo-1, Photo-4, Photo-7..., i observe that before the day is over the order might change to Photo-4, Photo-7, Photo-1. Why does this happen? Can I determine the order of appearance of the photos in my Friends group?

Hi guys, I'm trying to install the IIS to do my ASP, but having problems with it. My pc is running on XP Professional, The cd i used to install the IIS is a recovery cd tho. The IIS is successfully installed in my pc, But i can't locate the Internet Information Services in the Admin Tools. And when i try 2 run an asp file(saved in a folder which i have created in the wwwroot), it says connection refused. And it gives me an error when i try 2 create an asp web application, saying that not web services is installed. I'm at my wits end, could it be that i should not use a recoovery cd? Hope i get an ans soon.. Thx in advance!!!

I was getting a new motherboard and noticed there are different types of PCI-X slots on the board. I had a couple of questions.

1. Video cards are the only cards that will need the 16X due to the bandwidth and resources required for this. Are there any other cards that may need 16X.

2. I notice some companies sell boards with 4X as well as 8X. What type of cards need 4X vs 8X. It seems that everything else would just require 1X.

3. I heard 32X will be comming out. Is it worth it to wait.....

It will make a loud humming sound at any time. It has done this 3 times in the last wk. Turning off the p c and waiting a few minutes corrects the noise. I have vacuumed the back vent grills to see if that will help. If this continues , will I have to replace the fan and battery pack?
