Internet gambling is addictive, dangerous and should be outlawed, lawmakers argued Tuesday as the House took up a bill to prevent people from using credit cards or other payment forms to settle online wagers.
Lawmakers intend to clarify existing law by declaring internet gambling illegal, what are your thoughts on this?

If Prohibition taught us anything, It's how powerful and out of control something can become when it's outlawed.
People gamble every day of the week with their money and their future. One of the largest gambling institutions the world has ever known is down on Wall Street in New York City, New York.
From penny stocks to blue chip to pension plans, we gamble in the hope of...So, the issue is not whether or not we should gamble on the lotto, but, the method of gambling that seems to bother many people is being asked.
The mob made billions of dollars that strengthen their position in society by buying off public/elected officials, cops, judges, etc. The corrupting influence of any industry is not when something is legal and out in the open, but, when its suppressed and outlawed.
Addiction and corruption will go untreated. We see that same problem with drugs more than we see it with alcohol. Without getting of of the subject of gambling, should we legalize drugs and control drug addiction and treat it by re-routing the money from abuse within the industry or do we suppress drugs and Internet
gambling and have the taxpayer pick up the tab. Gamblers Anonymous is funded by the gambling industry and helps people with their gambling addiction/problems from the profits of gambling.
When someone gambles at a casino, the casino has the option of not accepting your bets. The casinos are monitored by a very professional staff of people with camera and on-site physical security to maintain the integrity of the gambling being done. It's cost effective for the taxpayer and throws a spotlight on the industry.
People are going to bet. Internet or no Internet. Make the Internet responsible for any abuse and leave me, a taxpayer, alone. I don't want the mob to get involved in Internet betting which would result in arrests, prosecutions and the whole cycle of judges and court rooms unnecessarily being jammed with indictments and charges of criminal conspiracies headed for judicial review all the way up to the Supreme Court. Too costly.
Now, if you'll excuse me, where did I put that bingo card !

lots of things are "addictive" sex, shopping...
honestly if people want to throw their money away why stop them? and where to you draw the line? what I'm not allowed to play bingo online incase I go crazy?
I don't currently gamble online but I think I should ahve the choice if I want to

i dont gamble but i do own my own gambling site. how ever i make lots of money from people who gambling online. if they dont do it online they will do it at a land based casino. so whats the differnce.

it is already illegal here in the usa and it is illegal for usa citzens to gamble on foreign servers.
i don't gamble. it bores me to death.
